Bad Medicine
By Ashley Jones
This country wasnt founded on socialism but on capitalism. Eighty-five percent of the American people receive adequate health care through company plans and private insurance. Any solutions for providing health care to the remaining fifteen percent should not eliminate the current system that sufficiently serves eighty-five percent of the population.
- People expect high quality care with availability from the medical system; plans which eliminate public feedback on the services being provided can only reduce the quality and availability of medical services.
- Additionally, the introduction of unnecessary bureaucracy into the medical system can only make it more difficult to provide satisfactory care to individuals.
- Finally, at a time where advocates of socialized medicine like Sweden and Canada are cutting back their plans trying to cut costs and avoid bankruptcy, the financial dangers of socialized medicine must not be ignored.
